Stefanie Consolla, Ph.D

Dr. Consolla has provided extensive individual, group, family, and couples therapy in addition to comprehensive psychological, neuropsychological, and educational evaluations and professional consultations. She has specialized training in severe trauma disorders, dissociation, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, behavioral medicine, eating issues, learning issues, and assessment.


Dr. Consolla's therapeutic style can be described as warm, compassionate, and empowering. She provides support and understanding while helping her clients to achieve their goals. She also works with her clients to access and process difficult or complex feelings, gain valuable insight and self-awareness, develop self-acceptance, and make changes in their lives.

Dr. Consolla is a clinical psychologist who is licensed to practice psychology in the State of Maryland. She has worked in the field of psychology as a therapist, researcher, and psychological examiner since 1999, and she has been in private practice since 2009. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Villanova University in Pennsylvania and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology and her Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from George Mason University in Virginia.


Dr. Consolla has worked in a variety of clinical settings including residential programs, community mental health centers, the Women’s Center of Northern Virginia, the Miami Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and Sheppard Pratt Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She completed her postdoctoral training in the Trauma Disorders program at Sheppard Pratt Hospital. Following her postdoctoral training, Dr. Consolla continued her work at Sheppard Pratt and also provided supervision and specialized training to therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists in the treatment of trauma and dissociation.
